It seems our spoilers in internetland have done a flip flop. The season premier will apparently now be JACK-centric, instead of Kate-centric. We will apparently learn more of the divide that existed between Jack and his father, Christian Sheppard. More info as it comes...

Only three weeks away...

LOST fans worldwide, rejoice. We are entering our final few weeks before we have our first 'pod' of new LOST episodes. Theories are abound as we will apparently see the underwater hatch become a reality, among other exciting happenings this year on LOST island.

For those of you who haven't heard - the first five episodes, titles included, are shaping up to be:

October 4, 2006 - A Tale of Two Cities (Kate Centric)
October 11, 2006 - Further Instructions (Claire Centric)
October 18, 2006 - The Glass Ballerina (Sun Centric)
October 25, 2006 - Every Man For Himself (Desmond Centric)
November 1, 2006 - The Cost of Living (Eko Centric)
November 8, 2006 - Untitled Mini-Finale

Apparently it appears that we will be seeing very little of Jack during the first six episode arc, mainly because he is off filiming movies, perhaps Rambo 4?

Anyway, I know you are all as excited as I am for the new season. To plan for it, get ready for much more frequent blog updates, with as much information as I can gather together.

I will also be reviewing the extra features on the LOST Season Two DVD's very shortly.

A new 'SPECIES' on the LOST island

Courtesy of www.thetailsection.com, news has been leaked that actress Natasha Hentstridge has been inked to join the cast of LOST for season 3.

Henstridge got her big break starring as the lead alien in the science fiction film, "Species". Most recently she had a part on the ABC "Commander In Chief".

It is believed she will play one of the crash survivors who will step out of the background to take a leadership role, while Jack, Kate and Sawyer are being held captive by the Others.

It will be interesting if that pans out, or if she joins the show in another capactiy. More info as it becomes available.

More Gossip Abound

Things are starting to get juicy, as more gossip starts to come out.

Today, we have a few tidbits courtesy of Kristin at E! Online, and also courtesy of the Sci-Fi Newswire:

Among the revelations to come: Viewers will learn more about Desmond and Penny, why Locke was paralyzed, why Libby was in the asylum, and why the island has healing powers.
The smoke monster is definitely not made of nanobots.

Kate will "make her choice" in the first six episodes of the season. Her choice is presumably between Sawyer and Jack.

The word "clone" will never be heard on the show.

The Powers That Be all but confirmed Libby will be appearing in flashbacks, most logically Desmond's or Hurley's.

If you're asking about daddy issues, you're asking the right questions.

Strong implication that an underwater hatch might exist and that it might be explored this season.

The producers say the hieroglyphics on the timer translate to "underworld".

News From the Cuse

Finally we have some tasty morsels courtesy of the last Ask Ausiello Report, and an interview with LOST producer, Carlton Cuse:

"During an interview Carlton Cuse revealed: We almost view the first six as a miniseries. And it's going to answer what we left hanging at the end of the finale. Obviously, we're going to explain what happened to Locke and Desmond and Eko, and sort of deal with the fact that Sawyer and Kate and Jack are in captivity. We would love to sort of finish up [Libby]'s story. We're casting two female roles and one new male role. I can't tell you where the characters are going to come from, but obviously, one of the things we're doing this year on the show is... learning a lot more about the Others, and their society and their history. So it might be fair to say that you're going to learn more about some other characters who are also Others. I wouldn't call it the season of sex, but I will say that romance will play a much more active part of the show this year... We actually meant to get to it last year. We didn't really get to the romance as fast as we thought we were going to. So this year that's definitely on our agenda. I think actually one of these new female characters is going to be a romantic interest, possibly for Jack. There will be several new romances on the show this year... I think that this year we're looking to make the show a little bit brighter, a little bit more vibrant, a little bit more on the action-adventure axis, a little bit more on the romance axis. I don't think the show will be as dark and as intense this year [as it was last season]. And it will be, I think, even more on the character axis than on the mythological axis. John Locke will be a very different person in Season 3. All of his questions and his doubts and his uncertainty have been answered. In fact, the button did mean something. And there was something at stake. And I think that will bring about a change in that character. Penny is an important character in the overarching mythology of the show. The interrelationship between the outside world and the island will be something that will be a part of Season 3. The monster will be a part of Season 3, as will the polar bear. People are asking what happened to the polar bear, so we will be doing some polar-bear stories. The smoke creature and the monster are one and the same. I hope Cindy shows up at some point. Let's just say we have many actors on our show; she is not at the top of the list of actors we're servicing"

2 newsbits...

I have just learned that according to Amazon.com, the release date of the LOST Season 2 DVD package has been pushed up nearly a month to September the 5th. This is good news for those of us who want to watch a few of the episodes again before Season 3 begins.

I've also heard that Matthew Fox has been cast as the lead villian in get this - the newest sequel to the Sylvester Stallone series, Rambo. Here's hoping that Foxey is finally the one to off the post-war veteran.

Snubbed but no surprise...

Well the Emmy Nominations are out today, and last year's winner of Best Drama, LOST, does not even appear as a nominee.

As a fan, I could take this personally and be pissed off my favorite show got snubbed.

But seriously, is this really a surprise? I mean come on - Michelle Rodriguez's acting was just pitiful this season, and Harold Perrineau with his 'Where's My Boy' and 'It's a Father's Right' speeches was REALLY not deserving of any kind of nomination.

Let's hope the producers use this year's snub as a kick in the arse and write some better material for the actors. Come on guys, let's kick it up.

The news is starting to pick up with the summer in mid swing. Podcasters are back, rumors are starting to run rampant, and it should be getting fun.

It looks like a certain Mr. Henry Ian Cusick has signed on as a 'guest star' for most of season three of LOST. I guess that puts to rest any thoughts we might of had of Desmond perishing after triggering that fail safe.

It also seems that apparently that very failsafe triggered several 'changes' to the island, and those changes will manifest themselves over the first six episodes of next season.

Ah, the plot thickens. More as I sort through the rumors...

Summer doldrums

Well Losties...since the summer is here, news has been slim on what's to come.

I personally have a few quick bits:

The producers have said LOST will air in two parts next season. Part one will be six episodes, and will culminate in a 'mini-cliffhanger'. These episodes will air consecutively, beginning at the end of September. There will then be a 3 month break, with LOST returning at the start of February, 24-style, with the remaining episodes running consecutively through the end of the season. I think this is a really good idea, and will eliminate all those month, six week breaks they had this season.

It also seems that both Michael and Walt are NOT slated to be cast regulars next season. I predict we WILL see them towards the end of the season, if at all.

Desmond will apparently be a full time regular cast member next season, which I think is good, because there's a lot left to find out about him.

Personally I think both Locke and EKO survived the explosion in the hatch at the end of the finale. I think if the producers are trying to pull a Locke/EKO role reversal, we may see big Adawale in a wheel chair next season...just an idea.

Anyway, I will continue to update everyone throughout the summer. It's going to be along one. I miss LOST already.

It seems according to Damon Lindelof, that we have not seen the last of Libby. Apparently her backstory is going to be told next season, through other character's flashbacks. Interesting, very interesting. One can only speculate if good ole Libby was actually a part of Dharma. I guess time will tell...

Does anybody remember the old SPRITE soda commercials, and the phrase LYMON?? this was how they explained their lemon-lime flavor as a combo deal - LYMON. is it a coincidence that SPRITE sponsored last night's Hanso Foundation commercial? Is it another coincidence that the website advertised is www.sublymonal.com ? Obey your thirst?

OK, so '?' has come and gone and left me with several '?'s of my own...

1) Was that the same Australian guy in Eko's flashback who told Claire not to have the baby?
2) Why did Marvin Candle use a different name in this new orientation video?
3) Why did his wooden hand seemingly work, if this video was newer than the first one? Perhaps he's a proud beneficiary of the Hanso Foundation regeneration project?
4) Why did nobody question why Michael didn't run after Henry Gale despite only a bit of a flesh wound in the arm?
5) How cool is Eko?

So many questions, so few answers.

It looks like next week's episode is going to be a doozy. I'm still predicting another plane crash...but that remains to be seen. All and all, I thought i was a great episode and nice follow up to 'Two For the Road'. Your thoughts?

Inman is Kelvin, Kelvin is Inman

Rumor on the street is that in a mjor flashback crossover - Inman (the kindly or not so kindly Army chief from Sayid's flashback) is actually Kelvin (Desmond's partner who supposedly died in the hatch).

It seem good old Clancy Brown's name has resurfaced in the official ABC guest star list for this year's finale. Could the major bad guy from 'Highlander' actually be the 'HIM' that Henry Gale keeps referring to?

I guess only time will tell. Good thing, there's a new LOST on tomorrow night. Stay tuned for '?' ...

All I can say is WOW –I was expecting Ana-Lucia to get killed last night, but definitely was not expecting Libby to get shot as well.

Without calling upon any spoilers, based upon last night’s show – here is what I expect to happen:

I think Libby will not be dead yet, and Mr. Eko and Locke will set out to find that mysterious question mark on the map, hoping it will be the place where the island can save her. When they realize it can not, she will die and both Locke and Eko’s faith will be tested.

I alos think it is obvious that Michael will be leading everybody into a trap. Rumor has it, there is still one more major character to die this season. Who will it be? When will it be? I have a hunch it will all lead to the season finale.

BTW – does anybody else thing that it was Claire that Jack’s dad was trying to get to see last night? Could Claire be Jack’s half sister?

So many questions need to be answered.

All I know is that was the best episode of LOST in a long time, and I can not wait for the next three episodes that will hopefully be just as good.

For those of you fans out there who were paying attention to the commercials, you might have seen one for the Hanso Foundation with a voice over from show producer Carlton Cuse. Apparently if you call the number 1-877-Hansorg, it will take you to the Hanso Foundation’s corporate office. If you push enough buttons, you will apparently be given a password which you can then take and use on the new Hanso website to unlock part 2 of the ‘LOST Experience’.

Had this information for a while and it has now been confirmed by enough sources to bring it to the front page. Hold onto your pants... it's a big one...

Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros have officially left the show. The reasons are not entirely clear at this time. I'm trying to get some comments out of ABC about this, but it is unlikely they are going to respond with any information.

Harold Perineau is also rumored to be leaving the show as a regular character.

If all this is true...next week's episode just might be off the proverbial hook. More as I find it out....

Libby Going Too?

An interesting tidbit today, courtesy of spoilerfix.com...

Per the Hollywood Reporter, Cynthia Watros, aka Lost's Libby, has been tapped to join Tom Cavanagh on the CBS comedy pilot My Ex-Life, calling into question the fate of Hurley's little gal pal (although her Ex-Life role is said to be just a "guest-starring" one).

Does this mean Libby may be getting killed off as well? The producers have said two people will die before season's end, so I guess anything's possible...but man, was I hoping it would be Michael....

Desmond's Back...

The LOST Season finale is coming in only a few weeks. Apparently the two-hour season finale will be entitled 'Live Together, Die Alone'.

It seems like everyone's favorite 'brother' - DESMOND will be returning for the episode.

Rumor has it that good ole Desmond had a chance encounter with Libby, circa 2000, that will appear in a flashback for the season finale. There also will be some sort of dynamite encounter with Charlie and Eko, along with a major cliffhanger.

I draw your attention the photo courtesy of thetailsection.com. This is a photo of the under construction church that Eko and Charlie are building. The photo is supposedly from one of the upcoming episodes of LOST. According to the photo, every indication of two more graves is present - which means two more characters could be set to die this season.

Every indication points to a rather surprise death on the next episode featuring Ana Lucia. IF you remember earlier this season when Shannon was killed off, the episode was centered around Shannon. The previews showed Henry Gale choking out Ana - could this be the same case? I don't know - but rumors are that Michelle Rodriguez has left Hawaii and they are still shooting the season finale...so who know's. Nevertheless, we have to wait two weeks to find out....

Don't worry, I'll try to do some more digging.

...so last night we found out that Rose and Locke were a little more connected than we originally thought. It seems Rose's cancer has been cured by the island much in the same way that Mr. Locke's legs were healed upon crash. All this healing makes me think that that giant magnet hidden in the crash may be providing some sort of healing powers to our survivors.

we also were given the long awaited return of Michael. It seems like the hiatus gave Harold Perrineau a chance to grow back his dreadlocks a bit. How do they explain the hair growth, if Michael has only supposedly been gone for two weeks of island time? Here's to hoping the Others took time to make Michael a little less annoying then he was before he left. I really am praying they find 'his boy' soon so he can stop whining.

we also got to hear a few more quips from Sawyer. he never ceases to amaze me with his hilarious comments. However, I think the funniest scene in last night's episdoe was between Eko, Bernard and Charlie. Come on now Charlie's 'I kind of like you the way you are now' was just priceless - and I usually hate Charlie.

Lastly, we were left with Locke trying to scroll the map from the blast doors on one of those Apollo Candy Bar wrappers. I bet he asks for Eko's help very soon on this little quest.

all and all, I thought it was a pretty blah episode. Rose and Bernard don't exactly exude excitement. it looks like the next few episodes will definitely heat things up.
